ANDOVER, Mass. — Sphere and Photodiode Sensor SystemsMKS Instruments Inc. has announced three new additions to its line of Ophir Integrating Sphere sensor systems designed for the measurement of divergent and collimated light sources such as laser diodes and LEDs.

The IS-1 is a 1-in. sphere that measures powers from 20 nW to 20 mW for light sources from 0.35 to 1.1 µm. The 3A-IS is a 1.57-in. sphere that measures powers from 1 to 3 W for light sources from 350 to 1100 nm. The IS-6 is a 5.3-in sphere with four ports. It measures both high- and low-power divergent beams from 20 µW to 30 W for light sources from 0.2 to 2.2 µm.

All three integrating spheres can measure beams with divergence up to 40°. Each is delivered as a calibrated unit with a photodiode detector. The IS-6 can be purchased with no detectors for use in the user's measurement setup or as a uniform light source.
