SOLNA, Sweden — Single-Frequency Diode-Pumped LaserCobolt AB has announced a higher-power model of the Cobolt Twist continuous-wave single-frequency diode-pumped laser.

The 457-nm device is part of the 05-01 Series platform. Its wavelength and optical properties make it ideal as a replacement for bulkier Ar+ lasers. A proprietary laser cavity design provides ultralow noise performance of typically <0.2 percent rms, stable single-longitudinal-mode operation, intrinsically excellent wavelength stability and immunity to optical feedback.

With up to 200-mW, single-frequency, continuous wave output power, the laser is suited for demanding applications in holography, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence.
