BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. — PhotoreceiverThe QL01 Quantum Limited Photoreceiver from Hobbs ElectroOptics is based on a proprietary bootstrap architecture, allowing for low-noise, high-speed measurements in very low light.

The QL01-B offers shot-noise-limited photodetection performance for signal photocurrents as low as 7 nA in a 100-kHz bandwidth and 25 nA in 1 MHz, with a full-scale input of 1 ÁA. The QL01-A trades off a bit of high-frequency noise performance for a 7× increase in detector area, giving more light collection and easier alignment while still being quantum limited above 8 nA in 100 kHz and 45 nA in 1 MHz.

The QL01 is available in lab or OEM versions, ready to bring wide bandwidth, shot-noise-limited performance to measurements at the nW to low mW level.
