Dolan-Jenner Industries has introduced its glass and acrylic rod lenses for use with fiber optic line lights. When used with the lights, the lenses increase their intensity by projecting the output into a structured line. The units are available in lengths up to 48 in. Applications for the lenses include web inspection, such as when quality control cameras look for pinholes in fabric. The glass rod lenses are suitable for chemical and high-temperature environments where acrylic components might degrade.
