JGM Associatesd Q-Switched LaserJGM Associates Inc. has announced a passively Q-switched 1064-nm laser for OEMs.

The device features a pulse energy of 5 mJ at pulse rates to 100 Hz; a pulse duration of 2 ns; and beam quality of M2 = 1.5 to 2.5, depending on resonator configuration. Laser head size is 1.7 × 2.2 × 0.8 in. Higher 1064-nm pulse energy to 50 mJ can be provided with the same laser head package, but at lower maximum pulse rate.

Applications include laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, laser ablation and surface cleaning, laser-induced plasma, lidar, range finding, marking/stamping, 3D displays/art in transparent materials, gemstone enhancement and IR illumination.
