Mad City Labs’ RM21™ Microscopes are ideal for researchers who need flexible and configurable microscopes. RM21™ microscopes are suitable for super resolution microscopy, nanoscopy, TIRF microscopy, fluorescence imaging, single molecule FRET, and Colocalization Single Molecule Spectroscopy (CoSMoS). The RM21™ microscope features our high precision piezo nanopositioning, direct optical pathway access, and precision orthogonal alignment with optical table compatibility. Our nanopositioners feature proprietary PicoQ^® sensors for high stability and low noise performance essential for advanced microscopy techniques. The RM21™ Microscope design and open pathway access simplifies alignment of instrumentation, external and internal to the microscope, while still maintaining instrument versatility and flexibility.

Mad City Labs offers the only commercially available MicroMirror TIRF microscope. In MicroMirror TIRF, the excitation and emission wavelengths are spatially separated. Spatial separation, rather than spectral separation as used with dichroic TIRF, enables improved signal-to-noise ratios. This is particularly advantageous for biomolecular studies where many wavelengths will be implemented. The RM21™ Microscopes are available in four models – Versa, Classic, Advanced and MicroMirror TIRF. A range of options enables a variety of microscopy techniques while maintaining flexibility in design for do-it-yourself microscopy instruments.
