SAN JOSE, Calif., March 20, 2018 — A suite of 64-GBaud optical components for coherent systems operating at 600 G and 1.2 T have been announced by NeoPhotonics Corp.

The suite consists of three critical optical components: a 64-GBaud coherent driver modulator, a 64-GBaud coherent intradyne receiver and an ultranarrow linewidth tunable laser. The components work together to enable customers to implement single-channel 600-G or dual-channel 1.2-T data transmission over data center interconnect distances of 80 km. The components also support 400 G over metro distances of 400 to 600 km using 64 GBaud, 16 QAM or 200 G over long-haul distances of >1000 km using 64 GBaud and QPSK

System designers will use the suite to achieve higher data rates over a given distance. Higher symbol rates increase data capacity while maintaining superior optical signal-to-noise ratio, spectral density and reach performance.
