LE BARP, France — Pulse Characterization TechniqueBiprism-based optical autocorrelation with retrieval (BOAR) is a technique of ultrashort-pulses characterization from Femto Easy SAS that relies on interferometric single-shot autocorrelation and two-photon absorption.

The time delay is encoded into a spatial interferogram, which is used to evaluate the pulse duration, the 2-ω spectrum, and the chirp. There is no nonlinear crystal and no phase-matching issues, making the spectral working range very broad, from 1200 to 2400 nm. The BOAR provides reliable measurements and is spatially resolved.

The technique is suitable for rather chirped pulses, and the retrieval is done in real time directly by Fourier transformation. The BOAR FS features a temporal window of 3 ps and the BOAR PS features a temporal window of 5.5 ps.
