KARLSRUHE, Germany, June 25, 2018 — Machine Vision SoftwareEVT Eye Vision Technology’s EyeVision machine vision software now supports Modbus.

Users of EyeVision software can now access all important PLC systems. The inspection results of the camera can therefore be passed onto the higher-level control system. With the new Modbus support of the EyeVision system, a protocol converter is no longer necessary. This means that even if the camera does not have this function available, the software can communicate with the camera via Modbus, without converter.

This innovation makes the work of engine builders and system integrators much easier, because with the EyeVision and Modbus protocol, a great number of cameras can be used. EyeVision supports matrix and line scan cameras, monochrome and color cameras, CCD and CMOS cameras, as well as NIR and thermal imaging cameras, hyperspectral cameras, and 3D sensors.
