Summers Optical has developed a solvent-free temporary adhesive for precision optics. Lens Bond type DB-99 cures in 90 s under UV light at room temperature and can provide structural integrity during grinding and polishing operations. Submerging it in acetone debonds it. This optical cement has a cured refractive index of 1.54 and a viscosity of 420 centipoises.
