FLIR Systems Inc. says its new Tracer thermal imaging system is the first to record and analyze long thermal event sequences at real-time frame rates on a Windows PC. Tracer, a thermal imaging and analysis system, combines a high-resolution thermal imaging camera with a Pentium PC, digital video recording system and Windows-based analysis software. In a base configuration, it can record 5+ min of thermal activity at a 60-Hz frame rate with 12-bit pixels, capturing 9.3 MB of data per second for analysis.
