tEDFAILX Lightwave Corp. offers the FTS-9200 high-density comb source for the test and measurement of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers and dense wavelength division multiplexers. It features up to 48 distributed feedback source modules in one instrument with available wavelengths across the C- and L-bands from 1528 to 1610 nm. It is available in 10- and 20-mW versions. The source has a 24-h wavelength stability of ±0.005 nm. Optical source shutters promote channel equalization, and an integrated variable optical attenuator controls the comb's output power. Applications for the device include measuring gain flatness, polarization-dependent gain or loss, noise figure and saturation power.
