The S7516 Si PIN photodiode from Hamamatsu Corp. incorporates a preamplifier that is compatible with a wide bandwidth and a 3-mm-diameter active area, which make the device suitable for spatial light transmission. The photodiode has a spectral response range of 320 to 1060 nm and peak sensitivity at 840 nm; typical photosensitivity is 85 V/W.
