The VSC8123 is an adaptive clock and data recovery integrated circuit for use in broadband applications with continuous frequency coverage from 10 Mb/s to 2.7 Gb/s. Vitesse Semiconductor Corp.'s device can dynamically and automatically modify its acquisition point in both voltage and phase, enabling data acquisition from a degraded signal or data eye. The VSC8123 is suitable for use in metropolitan and long-haul applications that use SONET, Ethernet, Fast and Gigabit Ethernet, high-definition TV and Fibre Channel protocols.
