Renishaw plc's RenCam is a compact, slow-scan CCD camera designed specifically to meet the demands of scientific applications requiring minimum noise levels. The self-contained unit includes a CCD head, a PC interface card and the necessary software for operation. The device is Peltier cooled to 270 °C and requires no water or liquid-nitrogen cooling. A 578 3 384-pixel chip comes standard. Applications include astronomy, biofluorescence and Raman spectroscopy.
