icameraA line-scan camera has been released by Dalsa Corp. that allows the use of less-expensive lighting and smaller-aperture optics for an increased depth of field. The Eclipse has built-in processing for FPN/PRNU correction and is available in 512, 1024 and 2048 resolution. This camera is bidirectional, running from a single input of 12 to 15 V using programmable gains, offsets and other camera controls. At line rates of up to 64 kHz, it outputs 8-bit RS-644 data at selectable speeds of up to 40 MHz. The camera also features 13-µm square pixels and CDS timing to increase dynamic range. Machine vision applications include postal sorting, web inspection, and electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
