The photosensitivity of Osram Opto Semiconductors' light sensor comes very close to the spectral sensitivity of the human eye. These sensors utilize silicon photodiodes for sensing a variety of light sources. They are highly linear, surface-mountable and sensitive in the near-IR range up to 1100 nm. Applications include the detection of ambient light to control the illumination in car radios, air conditioning, dashboards and mobile phones.
