A line of wideband, high-damage-threshold polarizers for use with high-power and ultrafast lasers has been launched by Alpine Research Optics. These plate polarizers feature a broad spectral operating range. The thin-film design produces a flat spectral response over approximately 5% of the nominal operating wavelength, and the coating can be optimized for operation at any wavelength in the 266- to 1064-nm range. Performance specifications for a 1064-nm polarizer are Tp>98% and Ts<1% over a 50-nm bandwidth.
