Super-Eye lenses allow working distances of more than 500 mm, making them suitable for gauging applications where the inspection area is difficult to access. Their manufacturer, Light Works, says they have distortion values as low as 0.1% and allow less than 0.2% change in magnification over object distance variations greater than ±32 mm. The lenses can be used with 1/3- and 1/2-in.-format area cameras as well as 1024-pixel and smaller linear array cameras. Magnifications are available from 0.2 to 0.4x.
