JM Science Inc. has launched a refractive-index detector with a full-color liquid crystal for monitoring the detector status and baseline in real time. The Shodex model RI-101 has an automatic start-up sequence for calculating noise and drift values and auto zero before a "ready" status is indicated. Temperature can be set from 30 to 50 °C in 1° increments. The detector has a solvent leak sensor that generates an output signal that will shut down the pump when a solvent leak exists. A series of input/output signal terminals and an RS-232 port are available.
