Adept Technology Inc. has unveiled AdeptVision AVI, a digital signal processor-based frame capture and image processing board with new software that features the ObjectFinder 2000. This geometric, object recognition tool for robot guidance extends the system's machine vision capabilities in difficult imaging environments, enabling it to tolerate drastic lighting changes and cluttered scenes, and to locate objects despite changes in position, rotation, appearance and scale. The company says that the vision system represents an improvement of up to 14 times over current execution rates.
