The IF-E93 LED from Industrial Fiber Optics has an optical output spectrum that peaks at 530 nm, which maps to the lowest attenuation window of PMMA plastic optical fiber. This green LED is capable of distances of more than 150 m at data rates of 5 Mb/s using standard 1-mm-core fiber. Its rise and fall times allow data rates up to 30 Mb/s. Applications include water turbidity and plant sensors, local area networks, long-distance communications over plastic fiber, optical wavelength multiplexing, medical electronics and instruments, automotive electronics and fiber optic modems.
