TuiOptics GmbH has released a series of pulsed violet laser sources that offer a diffraction-limited pulsed laser beam for optimum focal spots. Features of the PVLS series include output-pulse rise and fall times <3 ns, pulses down to 5 ns in random pulse cycles and output power of 2.5 or 15 mW CW, depending on the model. The compact system comprises a laser unit and power supply. Beam quality characteristics include a Gaussian beam shape, <200-µrad beam divergence, ≤0.04λ(rms) wavefront error and 4.1-mm typical beam diameter FWHM.
