Vision Engineering Inc. has developed an accessory to replace traditional eyepieces on binocular, stereo and research microscopes. Isis increases the distance between the user's eye and the microscope to 38 mm, allowing operators to wear prescription or safety glasses and to avoid physical contact with the unit. This device eliminates the need to align eyes precisely with the center of each eyepiece. The company says Isis also prevents the eye, neck and back ailments associated with microscope use.
