The 160-channel DWDM platform from Oplink Communications Inc. has a complete set of modules and components for building high-capacity subsystems for 1.6-Tb/s fiber optic telecommunications systems. The company says it is highly scalable, upgradable, compact and athermal. The initial system can be built with a small number of DWDM channels and later scaled for higher channel counts by adding modules and components that mount directly onto system circuit boards. This bidirectional system is suitable for use as a multiplexer or demultiplexer.
