fOpticStockerYale Inc. offers fiber optic, on-axis diffuse lighting designed to illuminate objects perpendicularly to eliminate glare and shadows. The illuminators are suitable for inspecting objects with specular-finish surfaces such as silicon wafers and CD-ROMs, as well as solder pads on printed circuit boards, electronic components and metallic parts. They feature apertures of 1 x 1 and 2 x 2 in., and a customized line array and reflector that provide a uniform, diffuse output. The devices have a lightweight metal housing with a small footprint and two mounting holes.
