The IQ-5250 optical spectrum analyzer from Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. features a wavelength range of 950 to 1650 nm and 50-pm resolution. It also provides dynamic range of >45 dB at 25 GHz and >35 dB at 12.5 GHz. Other features include an adjustable span of 400 to 1 nm, ±0.05-dB repeatability in 1 min., typical polarization sensitivity of ±0.1 dB and a maximum of ±0.15 dB. Typical uniformity in the C-band is ±0.1 dB. The instrument's specifications are designed for measuring higher channel counts and narrowly spaced wavelengths in DWDM networks.
