It incorporates Bookham Inc. high-power single-emitter laser diodes that produce >10-W operational light output power. The optical design of the pump block was developed by the Fraunhofer Center for Laser Technology. The system eliminates beam-shaping optics to enable high coupling efficiencies and compact dimensions.
