Request InfoRayVio Corp. has announced a new series of UV LEDs with the footprint of a small surface mount device. With a width of 6.5 mm, flexibility is enabled for incorporation into a range of products from self-disinfecting water bottles to hospital surface cleaners. The technology provides up to 40 milliwatts at 100 milliamperes of continuous current operation in a single package. With wavelengths from 280 to 290 nm and a high power density, the LEDs deactivate the DNA of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens, thereby preventing disease.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra March 2024 IssueUV LEDsThe Gen2 XBT-3535 series from Luminus Devices are UV LEDs for surface disinfection, horticulture, phototherapy, and medical applications.
