When used with Auto-Montage's integrated frame grabber, the Z-stepper automatically captures images from various focal planes and combines them, eliminating limited-depth-of-field problems. A new software function enables twice as many image slices to be joined into a single, detailed image, creating a 3-D model of a sample.
