WEBINAR OVERVIEW

In this one hour instructional webinar, we will discuss the fundamentals of modular spectrometers and how they have evolved into a modern spectroscopic tool. Our course instructor will provide a brief overview of various spectrometer designs and how the different optical components can be configured to optimize the system’s performance for a desired outcome. We will also discuss the advantages that fiber-optics provide for sampling and easy reconfiguration. Wrapping up the first half of the webinar, we will discuss the advantages of using miniature spectrometers for systems level integration.

The second half of the course will provide an overview of many common applications of miniature spectrometers. Applications to be covered include (but are not limited to) reflectance, absorption, Raman, transmission, emission, fluorescence and irradiance. There will also be an open question and answer session immediately following the presentation.

Presenter:
Jason Hammock currently serves as a Sr. Applications Scientist for B&W Tek with a focus on OEM systems integration, and has been with the company for two years. Prior to joining the B&W Tek organization, Jason has worked in engineering based roles supporting application optimization using a broad range of laboratory and process instrumentation, including the use and integration of fiber optically coupled spectroscopy systems.

BS: Chemistry/Chemical Engineering – Auburn University, MBA – NYIT, PMP – PMI
