Axsys Technologies Opens New Manufacturing Facility

Axsys Technologies Inc., manufacturer of high-performance surveillance and imaging systems for defense and related commercial industries, has opened a new manufacturing facility Nashua, NH. The new 67,000 square foot facility doubles the company’s manufacturing space, which will provide additional capacity to meet future growth. According to Axsys, they have added more than 100 employees to its Nashua-based operations since 2007, bringing to the total headcount to 330. The Rocky Hill, Conn.-based company operates throughout the country, employing nearly 1,000 people nationally. The company is currently recruiting for 50 new positions. The news was announced with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by company officials and several federal and local dignitaries including NH Congressman Paul Hodes’ Chief of Staff, Matt Robinson, and Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau. As part of the opening celebrations, Scott Conner, president of Axsys, donated an infrared camera to the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit (SOU). The camera, which was accepted by Robert Cormier, chief of SOU, will be used for search and rescue operations.
