Candela Reports Record Revenue and Profits
WAYLAND, Mass., April 23 — Candela Corp. announced that revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 1999 reached a record $15.8 million, increasing 84 percent over the $8.6 million reported in third quarter of fiscal 1998. Earnings also rose to a record level of $1.9 million, or $.31 cents per fully diluted share. Revenues for the first nine months of this fiscal year rose to $39.9 million, a 60 percent increase over 1998's figure of $24.9 million for the comparable period.
Candela's strong quarter and current financial standing were attributed to a number of recent developments, including initial shipments of the company's laser systems to its distribution partner, Physician Sales and Service, and the introduction of the Skintonic, an advanced body and face massage system.
