Hologic Inc.
The FDA has granted clearance to Hologic Inc. of Bedford, Mass., a diagnostics and medical imaging systems company, for its R2 Quantra volumetric breast density assessment technology. The software generates an internal 3-D model by estimating the volume of fibroglandular tissue as well as of the entire breast, which will aid in the evaluation of breast tissue composition and volume without the need for human interpretation.
