Solid-State Lighting Funding
QD Vision of Watertown, Mass., a developer of nanotechnology-based products for lighting and displays, has been awarded more than $700,000 in funding by the DoE. The award will fund research into developing a cost-competitive solution to the extraction efficiency of organic LEDs with a stable color rendering index for use in solid-state lighting.
- The use of atoms, molecules and molecular-scale structures to enhance existing technology and develop new materials and devices. The goal of this technology is to manipulate atomic and molecular particles to create devices that are thousands of times smaller and faster than those of the current microtechnologies.
