  • IMRA, Jenoptik Pen Fiber Tech Deal

ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 21, 2010 — IMRA America Inc. (IMRA), developer of ultra-fast fiber lasers, and Jenoptik, an optoelectronic components and systems company based in Germany, have concluded a license agreement for IMRA high power fiber technology for products built by Jenoptik for government applications including defense and security applications.

In the agreement, IMRA licenses Jenoptik a portfolio of IMRA patents related to fiber lasers and amplifiers and specifically US Patent 5,818,630.

“Jenoptik has unparalleled expertise developing lasers for government and commercial applications. This IMRA technology, when combined with our products, provides enhanced performance in terms of achievable power and pulse energy with excellent beam quality,” said Dr. Thomas Fehn, executive vice president of the Lasers & Material Processing division of Jenoptik. “We look forward to building a long association with the highly respected IMRA team.”
