LMI Technologies, a maker of 3-D laser measurement sensors for industrial measurement and control applications, has sold 100 percent of its shares to join Augusta Technologie AG, a publicly listed German sensor and vision technology company. As a result, LMI will become part of a larger worldwide company in the field of digital imaging technologies. Located in Munich, Germany, Augusta focuses on two market segments: sensors and vision. Within the vision segment, Augusta sells digital cameras for machine vision under the Allied Vision Technologies brand. "LMI is a perfect fit to our vision activities and will give us access to the rapidly growing 3-D market,” said Augusta’s CEO, Amnon Harman. Augusta's mission is to further increase its presence in existing and new growth markets — regional and product-related — within the vision industry. The innovative technology and culture offered by LMI are expected to offer access to the growing 3-D market and further regional expansion, especially into North America. Through Augusta, LMI will expand its distribution channels for Gocator, an all-in-one 3-D measurement sensor. Additionally, LMI expects to benefit from the extensive camera technology capabilities to further develop unique 3-D systems for new and existing customers. The CEO of LMI Technologies, Terry Arden, will retain his position following the acquisition of the company. For more information, visit: www.augusta-ag.de
