Advanced Photonix, Thermo Fisher Ink Reseller Deal

ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 15, 2012 — Advanced Photonix Inc. has signed Thermo Fisher Scientific as its first value-added reseller (VAR) for its T-Gauge industrial terahertz gauging system.

The system offers on- and offline measurement for quality assurance and process control of web-based and converting industries. The technology is adaptable to various sensor configurations, including robotic controls, to support different applications.

The agreement will enable T-Gauge industrial process control solutions for continuous web, discrete manufacturing and anomaly defect inspection applications. Advanced Photonix plans to develop an agreement network that will serve vertical markets, and each VAR partner will be trained to sell, install and support the company’s T-Gauge products.

“API is developing and building a VAR partner network, and we are pleased to have established this relationship with Thermo Fisher Scientific, which has a long history of investing in new technologies for nondestructive measurement for manufacturing process control,” said Richard Kurtz, president and CEO of API.

API provides optoelectronic solutions, optical receivers and terahertz instrumentation for the telecom, homeland security, medical, military and industrial markets.
