Inrad Optics, IBC Advanced Alloys to Collaborate

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada, and NORTHVALE, N.J., Oct. 19, 2012 — IBC Advanced Alloys Corp. of Vancouver and Inrad Optics Inc. of Northvale have signed an agreement to identify alternative uses for IBC’s proprietary alloys.

The companies will evaluate the viability and commercialization of IBC’s Beralcast alloys as a cost-effective alternative substrate material for custom precision optical systems components. Beralcast alloys are suitable for high-performance applications that require complex, lightweight and high-stiffness parts. They can be substituted for aluminum, magnesium, titanium, metal matrix composites, pure beryllium and powder metallurgy beryllium-aluminum.

Inrad Optics, a vertically integrated photonics manufacturer, develops crystal-based optical components and devices, custom optical components for both glass and metal, and precision optical and optomechanical assemblies.
