Logos Technologies to Provide High-Energy Laser

Logos Technologies has been selected to design, build and install a high-energy laser at Washington State University. The laser will be used at WSU’s Dynamic Compression Sector (DCS) at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory. Previously, Logos Technologies worked with the University of Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics to provide a laser that will deliver 100 joules of energy in consistent, accurate and well-characterized nanosecond-scale pulses for real-time atomic-scale investigations of materials subjected to extreme dynamics. Glossary
    advanced photon source
An accelerator at the Argonne National Laboratory, providing powerful x-ray beams for materials research applications.
    nano
An SI prefix meaning one billionth (10-9). Nano can also be used to indicate the study of atoms, molecules and other structures and particles on the nanometer scale. Nano-optics (also referred to as nanophotonics), for example, is the study of how light and light-matter interactions behave on the nanometer scale. See nanophotonics.
