Irvine, Calif.-based Newport Corp. has received orders for its precision optics and optomechanical subassemblies from three capital equipment companies in the semiconductor industry. The equipment, worth $7 million, will be used in front-end processing and in test and measurement. Newport's chairman and CEO, Robert G. Deuster, said the parts would be produced at its facility in Garden Grove, Calif., which the company purchased from Corning/OCA last year.
