The FDA has granted Affymetrix Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., a producer of microarray technology for the analysis of genetic information, and Pathwork Diagnostics Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif., an oncology-focused company, clearance for in vitro gene expression diagnostic testing. The microarray system examines and aids in the diagnosis of indistinguishable cancerous tumors to provide the best type of treatment for patients.
