Covision Media, a subsidiary of Covision Lab, has spun off from its parent company. The move aims to expedite Covision Media's growth, enabling it to function as a scale-up company, dedicated to 3D scanning and the 3D e-commerce industry. In conjunction with the spin-off, Covision Media has made a number of appointments to leadership positions within the company. This includes CEO of Covision Lab Franz Tschimben, who will also serve the same role for Covision Media and Burkhard Güssefeld as its CTO. Tyrolean Business Angel founder Harald Oberrauch, Microtec Innovating Wood founding president Federico Giudiceandrea, and professor of computer vision at the California Institute of Technology Pietro Perona will serve on the company’s board. Both Covision Media and Covision Lab will continue to collaborate with and support the Vision Computing and Learning Lab led by Oswald Lanz at the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen in Bolzano, Italy, which it cofounded. As part of the deal Covision Media will move its offices to “the Kraftwerk” in Bressanone, a startup space hosted by Durst Group — one of the seven founding companies of Covision Lab and an investor in the spinoff company. Covision Media’s customers include Inditex Group, Meta, adidas and NUREG, La Sportiva, Gore-Tex, and a strong partnership with NVIDIA.
