Leica Microsystems GmbH of Wetzlar, Germany, has agreed to acquire Surgipath Medical Industries Inc. of Richmond, Ill. The latter company, a provider of consumables and medical device accessories for clinical histology and research laboratories, will expand Leica’s histology product range.
