PerkinElmer Inc., a company focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment, has received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for its GSP genetic screening processor, which is used by public health laboratories for newborn screening programs. The Waltham, Mass.-based company’s system will make laboratory work for newborns simpler by providing the capability to run more than one test at a time on very small samples of blood.
