Vecow and Solectrix Partner on AI Solution

Embedded technology company Vecow and German technology company Solectrix have partnered to develop a plug-and-play AI-based rapid imaging prototyping system. The system aims to provide imaging projects with a functional and configurable demonstrator and to enable easy evaluation of sensors, image signal processing chain, and other demanding image processing algorithms, according to the companies.

The solution, called the SXIVE Bundle HP, pairs the Vecow RCX-2000 PEG AI computing system with Solectrix’s rapid imaging prototyping system, SXIVE, a software-based image signal processing platform, with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU and a Solectrix proFRAME 3.0 video grabber.

The Vecow RCX-2000 Peripheral Component Interconnect Express Graphics (PEG) AI computing system is suited for Edge AI applications including high-speed automated optical inspection, 3D mapping, and in-vehicle computing. The system is powered by the 11th Gen Intel Xeon/Core i7/i5 Processor and integrated with NVIDIA/Tesla/Quadro/GeForce/AMD Radeon graphics to provide advanced AI computing capability and flexibility for expansion. The RCX-2000 PEG supports 3-slot and full-length graphics cards, with reliable power budget of up to 750 W for multiple peripheral component interconnect express expansions.

Solectrix’s SXIVE (Simplified eXtensive Image and Video Engine) image processing ecosystem consists of the actual image processing software, with a frame grabber board, hardware accelerators, and apps and plugins. It enables image processing professionals to practice rapid prototyping as well as real-time processing and analysis of images and video streams, including those from newly developed image sensors with unprecedented features. SXIVE’s flexible architecture enables users to tailor the processor to the requirements of any imaging project, making it possible to replace hardware components or implement new requirements over the course of the project without having to change the development environment.

According to the companies, the system is suitable for acceptance tests.

machine vision
Machine vision, also known as computer vision or computer sight, refers to the technology that enables machines, typically computers, to interpret and understand visual information from the world, much like the human visual system. It involves the development and application of algorithms and systems that allow machines to acquire, process, analyze, and make decisions based on visual data. Key aspects of machine vision include: Image acquisition: Machine vision systems use various...
