The SD150-13-003 is a 4-Mb/s silicon PIN photodiode designed for use in IrDA-compatible transceivers, fiber optic LANs and VCSEL-based IR links. This photodiode from Advanced Photonix Inc. offers low capacitance and depletes at low voltages for fast response characteristics. The company says the rise and fall times have been optimized for digital transmission, and the signal tailing has been eliminated. The device, which has a quantum efficiency of >80% from 500 to 850 nm, is available as an unpackaged chip with an active area of 1.4 mm2. It also can be customized for OEM requirements.
