A UV/VIS laser with switchable wavelengths of 266, 355 and 532 nm is available from Crystal GmbH. It comprises a diode-pumped, passively Q-switched solid-state microchip laser with different stages of frequency conversion. The laser delivers pulse repetition rates between 5 and 15 kHz with typical pulse widths of 1 ns, making it suitable for time-resolved spectroscopic measurements and quasicontinuous-wave fluorescence detection. The radiation is coupled into an optical fiber that has a core diameter of 70 or 100 µm via a standard SMA or FC connector for adaptation to applications such as capillary electrophoresis.
