For UV, VIS and NIR Spectroscopy Applications
EERBEEK, Netherlands, May 8 -- Avantes has followed up the release of its AvaSpec fiber optic spectrometers with a new line of light sources, AvaLight. Improved low-cost sources are now available from Avantes for spectroscopy applications for UV, VIS and NIR ranges. Light sources include deuterium, halogen, tungsten, LED and mercury-argon lamps for spectral ranges from 190 nm to 1700 nm, as well as traceable calibration sources.
"This is really just a continuation of our promise to respond to the needs of our customers", said Benno Oderkerk, Technical Director at Avantes. "We listened to customers' requests for stable, compact, low cost light sources that still included features such as TTL-shutters, filter holders, adjustable lenses and calibration traceability. The AvaLight series of light sources addresses these needs and more."
Other features include dramatically increased stability in the AvaLight-HAL over the previous tungsten-halogen source. This is accomplished by adjusting the current to the lamp to counteract the effects of aging. In addition, AvaLight-HAL has three different power settings allowing the user to determine the output and the life of the lamp.
AvaLight also includes an extremely compact deuterium-halogen light source, AvaLight-DHc. Packaged like AvaSpec, Avantes low-cost, high-resolution spectrometers, AvaLight-DHc is a low power source suitable for transmission measurement.
Combined with Avantes' AvaSpec spectrometers, AvaLight sources are suitable for a variety of spectroscopy applications including reflectance, fluorescence, transmittance, absorption and irradiance measurements. Avantes offers bundled solutions for many application requirements as well as a variety of accessories.
