For High-Output, Low-Linewidth Applications
MARBURG, Germany, March 18 -- Sacher Lasertechnik GmbH offers the newest member of its Tiger series, a 1-W, high-power external cavity diode laser system designed for applications that require high output power as well as low linewidth, such as optical cooling and trapping for producing a Bose-Einstein condensate.

The single-stage laser system offers more than 1000-mW output power at 780 nm with a narrow linewidth in the order of 1 MHz, a sidemode suppression better than 50 dB and an excellent diffraction-limited beam quality of M2 < 1.7. The total tuning range exceeds 20 nm. The mode-hop free tuning range is up to 2 5GHz, performed by a piezo actuator.

Applications of the 1-W, 780-nm tunable Tiger include optical cooling and trapping of Rb, high-brightness Raman spectroscopy.
